March 2022

March 2022

Hello Team FDS –

Lots going on this month. We are covering a variety of activities going at here at FDS and across the US writ large.

One of those started in 1987 when Congress declared that March is Women’s History Month. As each of you are aware, women have played a critical role throughout the history of the United States. We’ve included an interesting piece on Women in STEM for you to read.

February 2022

FEBRUARY 2022

Team FDS –

Hello to each and every one of you. I trust that you are all well.
The team has put together a great monthly for you all. Lots of exciting things going on. Unlike January, where we had lots of people out with COIVD, we seem to have moved past the high point for having people infected and out of work.

January 2022

JANUARY 2022

Dear FDS Family –

January has been a whirlwind of both good and bad news. We’ve had snow, dramatic NFL playoff games, volcanic explosions, and everything in between. As we returned to work and school after the holidays, the latest COVID surge hit hard and quickly. We have had many people miss work this month as a result. Hopefully the worst is behind us.

DECEMBER 2021

Message from the President

Dear FDS Family –

I want to wish each of you Happy Holidays.

I don’t know about you, but for me this year has flown by. In spite of the fact that we again find ourselves celebrating holidays while navigating COVID outbreaks, I hope that you are all able to find the joy of this season. Whether you celebrated Hanukkah earlier this month, are preparing for Kwanzaa or Christmas, or simply looking forward to enjoying time with friends and family, we can all look forward to 2022.

NOVEMBER 2021

Message from the President

FDS Team – I hope you all had a fun and festive Halloween! Thanks for sending in the photos of your kids and pets in costume. Now, if we could only get rid of this leftover candy that keeps appearing in the office. We will observe Veterans Day this week. Thanks to all of you who served and to your families for the support and sacrifices they made. FDS, our customers, and our community are the beneficiaries of your years of service. This month we are highlighting one of the agencies that our Discovery Analytics business line supports. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) plays a key role in ensuring the defense of our nation and has been in the news quite a bit lately with a focus on their role in ensuring fair elections. CISA is led by Jen Easterly, whose name many of you will recognize from her days at the Agency. The most recent Discovery Analytics new hire, Fernando Lopez, is supporting this customer through one of the FDS subcontracts.

Greetings FDS Team – I have just returned from a quick trip to California and am pleased to see the first signs of fall here in Maryland as the weather becomes more pleasant and the change of seasons has begun. Of course, October is start of the hectic holiday season from Halloween through Thanksgiving and Christmas and Hanukah and the holy days of October 17th and December 12th (that’s when the Packers beat the Bears, for all of you nonbelievers).

SEPTEMBER 2021

Message from the President

Happy fall gang – September has arrived and with it comes back to school, Halloween candy in the grocery stores, and the inevitable march of the Green Bay Packers toward another Super Bowl victory. Those of you who were not with FedData during last year’s NFL season should take the coming week to brace yourselves for five months of unapologetic propaganda on Aaron Rodgers, Lambeau Field, the Packers’ glorious wins over the Bears, and other highlights of Wisconsin culture.
